Paid Positions

Office Manager (part-time, year-round paid position)

The Office Manager is an essential part of our ministry team; the Office Manager is responsible for general office operations and communications, bookkeeping, record keeping, and camp registrations. The year-round position requires 20 to 30 hours per week at $12-$14/hour, depending on experience. Applicants should have bookkeeping experience and should be comfortable in a variety of computer programs. Web design experience is a plus. A background check is required. The start date for this position is somewhat flexible; we hope to start training in early summer.

Camp Cook (part-time, seasonal paid position)

The Camp Cook assists with and sometimes supervises food preparation in the camp kitchen. During the summer months, Birchwood Camp provides food service for groups ranging in size from 40-110 people almost daily.  Camp Cooks are responsible to our Food Service Manager and may serve as a shift leader while the Food Service Manager is off duty. The Cook must be able to follow recipes provided by the Food Service Manager and prepare & deliver meals in a timely manner. Cooks are not responsible for shopping or menu planning. Some weekends are required; possible work is available in the shoulder seasons.

The successful candidate will have experience working in food service, strong time management skills, and will be serve safe certified (desired but not required). Applicants to the Lead Cook position should have strong supervisory skills. Candidate should also have a desire to work with children, youth, and adults in a camp setting. Compensation: $11-$13/ hour DOE. Background check required.
