Relena Lyddon Myers, Director


Relena and her husband, Tommy, and two children moved to Alaska in June 2016.  Relena grew up on the prairie in Nebraska’s Sandhills; she has lived in Wyoming, Colorado, and Quebec, too. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Northern Colorado.  She is currently completing a Master of Arts in Outdoor Leadership from Denver Seminary.   She also has education and experience in nursing and social work.  She loves time in fellowship with family and friends; and enjoys swimming, “backyard living,” camping (especially campfire and “beach” time), fishing, archery, skiing and snowshoeing, gardening, nature and environmental education.  She and her family enjoy traveling and learning about new people and cultures.  They are excited to be a part of Birchwood Camp!



Karen Jennings, Program Specialist


Karen moved to Alaska in 2015 and joined Birchwood Camp in March of 2016. She was born in Flagstaff, Arizona and received her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Parks and Recreation from Northern Arizona University. Karen enjoys spending her time hiking, camping, cooking, and rock climbing. She is most passionate about travel, animals, and all outdoor activities!





Radie Rapanut, Office Manager


Radie joined Birchwood Camp in July of 2014. She was born in the Philippines and moved to Alaska in June of 2008 to join her husband, Carlo, when he was assigned as pastor of the United Methodist Church of Chugiak. Radie enjoys cooking, reading, singing, dancing as a form of exercise, hiking, managing the affairs of the household, and taking care of their two sons.






Lisa joined Birchwood Camp in October of 2016.  While she calls South Dakota her home, the Air Force brought her and her family back to the great state of Alaska for a second tour of duty.  They have also lived in South Korea, Germany, California, and Washington DC, courtesy of the US Air Force.  Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management and a Master of Business Administration, both from the University of South Dakota.  Lisa and her husband, Spencer, have 3 amazing children.  In her free time, Lisa enjoys running, reading, hiking, baking healthy treats, and spending time with her family.
