Adventure Canoe Camp

The first day of Adventure Camp is spent at Birchwood Camp, where campers sharpen their canoe skills, check for backcountry gear and practice setting up camp. The next nights are spent away from camp, camping and canoeing/rafting, hiking and spending time in fellowship near the Matanuska Glacier. Campers gain experience in outdoor living skills, wilderness smarts and survival, and develop deep friendships as they enjoy Alaska’s backcountry. Campers are guided by experienced and wilderness first aid trained staff. Prior camp experience is not necessary but basic physical fitness is required. In order to stay safe in the back country, Birchwood Camp provides some of the wilderness & camping gear, and other required gear is provided by the camper; CLICK HERE for the Adventure Camp Required Gear Checklist and be sure to contact us if you have questions or concerns.

This is a perfect opportunity for campers to improve their outdoor skills and enjoy the beautiful setting that Alaska offers. This camp has limited space – register early!
